A Whole House Remodel |

Kitchen & Breakfast Nook
All existing cabinets, splashbacks, appliances, and the island were removed from the kitchen. Prefinished cherrywood cabinets, black Italian granite countertops, appliances, and lighting were purchased by the homeowner from a local home improvement store for us to install. Cabinet installation included hardware, crown molding, shoe and base molding, and filler sections. (The tile splashback and floor were installed by another contractor hired by the homeowner.)
The homeowner chose halogen lighting for the kitchen and breakfast nook. The pendant lights in the nook (above) can be retracted into the recess in the ceiling. We partially closed a much larger recess to accommodate the smaller fixtures. Great Room
The beautiful cove ceiling of the great room was accentuated with crown molding. The challenge was to accommodate the 22.5° angle rather than the usual 90° angle. We also installed chair railing and ceiling fans as well as painted.
Replacing an uninspired pine shelf, a custom mantel (below) was built and installed in the room. We created the mantel from stock moldings adding custom routed details. It was then stained to match the homeowner's furniture and sealed. The brick was cleaned with acid and sealed. The firebox was painted with heat resistant black paint.
Formal Diningroom
We installed crown molding, chair rail, baseboard and shoe mold, and the blinds. The room was painted in a custom color chosen by the homeowner. French Doors
The opening to this room from the entry hall was a large cut-out. The homeowner requested French doors be installed. We reduced the size of the opening by building a wall. Sheetrock was installed followed by the doors and trim. The room, entry, and doors were painted.
Master Bath
A linen closet (left) was built into the existing walk-in shower. The plumbing was removed and capped off. New sheetrock was installed and texture applied. Shelves and bifold doors were installed. A new walk-in shower was built where the tub was before (below). The tub was removed. Cement board was installed on the walls and floor. Plumbing was rerouted. New controls and shower heads were installed on the left and right walls. The drain was moved to the middle of the floor.
Two new cabinets and tops were installed. The prefinished cabinets, tops, and faucets were purchased by the homeowners at a local home improvement center. When they mentioned they were unable to find anything to use for a make-up vanity, we found a solution. A slab of black granite had been cut from the kitchen countertop for the sink. We used this slab for the vanity top. The rough edges were covered with flat scalloped molding. A custom made drawer was installed beneath.
(Note: A large mirror was installed over the sinks and vanity after these photos were taken.)
