Restained Kitchen Cabinets The homeowners requested a darker stain on their kitchen cabinets to match the newly installed hardwood floors in the adjacent rooms. As shown at left, the original cabinets were in a light natural oak finish (which had darkened over time). The cabinets were stripped, sanded, stained and sealed. The original hardware was reinstalled. The results are shown below.
